Recently the NAM-PLACE project hosted a group of staff representative from the SPANEST Project in Tanzania. Their project focus is on Strengthening Protected Areas Network of Southern Tanzania. The project has similar aims to what NAM-PLACE strives to achieve and some of the activities are the same. The project visit lasted for a week, through which the members learned about Namibia as a country, the development and promotion of biodiversity and the general environmental conservation approach.

The team was impressed with NAM-PLACE's work and continues to exchange ideas on common interest points on the conservation of protected landscapes. With time and money available, NAM-PLACE would have loved the opportunity to see how SPANEST approach works in practice.
