Windhoek Green Belt Landscape launches Khomas Hochland Hiking Trail

The Khomas Hochland Hiking Trail launch event on12th June 2015 was a success and the venture has been welcome by many who would like to use the facility as soon as possible.

The project of developing a hiking trail of international standards, started almost a year ago, has finally come to a close.

All speakers at the event were in unison over the need to preserve the trail, not only as a business venture but also as a tourism attraction in the Khomas region, an alternative to the other popular trails in the country and also, as an opportunity from which Namibians can make economic contributions.

The trail can be undertaken in different courses, on single days or longer period of up to 6 days. The trail has been hailed as one of the newly found gems in the Khomas region and it is expected to attract many visitors during the hiking season.

Business and government sectors alike should make use of the facilities, book for their corporate events and not let this venture disappear into thin air. This is a remark that highlights the involvement of government in establishing and supporting opportunities from which Namibians can improve their socio economic status.

This trail is an economic activity that is expected to boost the landscape and ensure sustainability when the project has closed.
